Boundaries Article February 2025
🤔 What’s Boundaries? A magazine, not a life lesson (but maybe both). Click here to find out!
Improvements Ahead.
Now that we know that change is here for the industry, it’s time to look ahead and plan for what that means for us at ARELLO. The words that come to life for me when I think and strategize about the impact on ARELLO are words like:
Strengthening
Improving
And Eliminating – as in eliminate all mediocre nonsense.
So now that change is here, let’s talk about the improvements that lie ahead for us.
Disciplinary Action Database (DADB)
The ARELLO Disciplinary Action Database has incredible potential as the go-to verification tool for assessing the honesty, trustworthiness, and competency of license applicants. If you’re not familiar with the DADB, it helps determine whether an applicant has faced disciplinary action from a real estate license authority in another jurisdiction.
But this resource is only as strong as the data behind it. Is your jurisdiction’s data up to date? How often are you uploading? Let’s connect – email me at jessica@arello.org, and we’ll talk through the data your jurisdiction provides to ARELLO.
License Verification
Continuing on ARELLO’s data, we offer API access to our license verification system, and it’s catching the attention of real estate tech companies building search platforms and compliance tools. Direct API access means faster, more reliable verification of licensing data across the industry.
So, let me ask again: Is your jurisdiction regularly uploading data to this system? Or – if you’re an Affiliate Member – could your organization benefit from tapping into this resource? Let’s start that conversation. Shoot me an email, and we’ll talk about what’s possible!
Data Strategies in General
Data is at the core of ARELLO’s Strategic Plan – it’s one of our five key pillars. Good data strengthens regulatory oversight, improves transparency, and helps eliminate inefficiencies in licensing and disciplinary tracking.
As an ARELLO member, how you use our data matters most. So, I challenge you to reach out to me and share where we can:
Strengthen our data and systems,
Improve accessibility and usability, and
Eliminate inefficiencies that may be holding you back.
I look forward to working with you to make our data (and ARELLO as a whole) as impactful as possible. Email me at jessica@arello.org – I’d love to hear your insights.
In Closing…
Among so many other operational and budget improvements we’re making, it’s also time to set boundaries (no pun intended for this article so strategically placed in the Boundaries Newsletter, haha)! That means tightening our financial belt and prioritizing what is best for our members, not just the industry. Jurisdictions focus on protecting consumers, but ARELLO is here to serve you. Membership has its privileges, and we remain vigilant about where ARELLO is headed. Let’s keep the conversation going!
Until next time,
